1947Herman White began advertising his business as White Trucking and Excavating–adding bulldozer work to his existing coal and gravel hauling services.

1960The company began to take on larger earthmoving projects such as site development for area industries, including Eli Lilly, Clinton laboratories, sewage lagoons and construction at the Newport Army Ammunition Plant.

1979Founder Herman White passed away and the company’s leadership role was assumed by Herman’s son, Herman “Buddy” White II.

1983The company name changed to its current name of White Construction Inc. (WCI) to better reflect its growing offering, which included crane and heavy rigging services and industrial plant maintenance.

1990White Construction began the construction of over 5,000 MW of co-generating gas peaking plants across the Midwest. This entry into the power industry expanded the crane and equipment fleet, making the company one of the largest privately-owned crane houses in the Midwest.

2005The company entered into the renewable energy market, which grew the company by 600% in just six years.

2011White Construction was acquired by Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (IEA), ensuring continued growth and synergy for decades to come.

2022IEA and its affiliated companies were acquired by MasTec and are now part of the organization's Clean Energy and Infrastructure segment.
