The Burk’s Falls Solar Farm is a 10 MW ground-mounted photovoltaic solar project in Armour Township, Ontario.  The project required mass excavation to achieve the 10 MW capacity requested by Northland Power.  The existing site was sloped in the wrong direction and required many grade changes as well as blasting due to rock and subsurface conditions.  Additionally erosion and sediment control measures were required outside of the perimeter fence to reduce silt laden water from reaching the wetland / watercourse while the project was under construction.
