The Amherst project was built on the Bay of Fundy near Amherst, Nova Scotia.  The turbine locations were below sea level which required the substation to be elevated for flooding concerns.  Additionally, the spread-footer foundations were supported by driven H-piles due to poor soil conditions.

The Amherst project was the first project in North America to deploy Suzlon’s new S9X -2.1 MW turbine.
